MarkItDown AI is a lightweight document-to-Markdown converter. This v1 policy reflects the current local MVP boundary.

Files

Uploaded files are used only to perform the requested conversion. v1 writes files to a temporary server directory and deletes them after the request completes or fails.

We do not use uploaded file contents to train AI models. v1 does not send file contents to an LLM provider.

Account and payment data

v1 does not require login and does not process payment. Account, billing, credits, subscriptions, API keys, and checkout are deferred.

Analytics

When deployed, the site may use basic analytics to understand page visits and tool events such as upload, conversion success, copy, and download. Analytics should not include uploaded file contents.

Security limits

v1 restricts file types, file size, conversion time, and remote fetching. URL conversion, persistent file storage, batch mode, OCR, and full MCP server functionality are not part of v1.
