MarkItDown AI provides a browser-based workflow for converting supported local files and pasted text into Markdown.

Conversion quality depends on source format, document structure, and backend dependencies. The service is not intended for pixel-perfect layout conversion.

Only upload files you have permission to process. Do not upload illegal, malicious, highly sensitive, or confidential files.

Do not attempt to bypass file type, file size, timeout, rate-limit, or security controls.

OCR, ZIP batch conversion, audio transcription, YouTube URL conversion, remote URL fetching, paid API access, and hosted MCP server functionality are not included in the default V2.0 release.

Roadmap items may change as product, SEO, security, and usage data are reviewed.

The service is provided as a conversion aid for AI-ready Markdown workflows. Results may be incomplete or inaccurate for complex layouts, scanned documents, images, charts, formulas, or malformed files.
